Part V---Suffix
Single tapered roller bearings have an outer ring, the inner ring and a set of tapered rollers are enclosed by a basket cage to form an inner ring assembly. The outer ring (or inner ring) of a double row tapered roller bearing is a single piece. The small end faces of the two inner rings (or outer rings) are similar, and there is a spacer in the middle. The clearance is adjusted by the thickness of the spacer. The thickness of the spacer can also be used to adjust the pre-interference of the double-row tapered roller bearing.

Four-row tapered roller bearing is one of the main roller bearings. This type of bearing has large radial and axial load capacity, and the radial load capacity is about 3 times that of a single row. The limit speed is low. It can limit the axial displacement of the shaft (or housing) in both directions within the range of the bearing axial clearance, so it can be used for bidirectional axial positioning. The diameter and axial clearance of the bearing can be adjusted by changing the thickness of the spacer between the inner and outer rings.
Four-row tapered roller bearings are mainly used for work rolls of hot and cold rolling mills, as well as rolls of billet mills. Due to the requirement of easy loading and unloading, it is usually a clearance fit with the roll neck.
